Summary | 0002769: Spider on a lift has a problem with a goal to walk to
Description | I noticed this while testing the 1.06 beta, with some graphic debugging on. In Illusionist's Tower, a spider walked onto a lift with me, trying to reach me for an attack. I hit the down button and the spider, myself, and the lift descended. Since I had debugging on, I could see that the spider's current "go to" point didn't move. It stayed up at the top level while the spider rode the elevator down. Since the spider couldn't get to the point, he froze. This needs to be corrected. A goal point on a lift should move with the lift. The point itself doesn't know it's on a lift, but an AI with a goal point in this situation should have the goal point move as well, or should lose that goal point and wait until the lift stops before grabbing a new one.

Wouldn't this then be an issue for all AI, not just spiders?
I haven't yet been able to reproduce this in 2.07 because a different problem emerges... The spiders appear to be scared of the lift. It is incredibly difficult to get them to chase you onto the lift. I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug... |
