Description | An issue in atdm:seed and / or some of the default entities (eg: atdm:nature_bush_large) causes some LOD based objects to teleport to unpredictable locations. In my case I have bushes randomly appearing indoors or on top of AI, far beyond the radius encompassed by the seed brush in which they're located. Screenshot attached as example, it's from an area that's very far from any seed or bush entity yet they still teleport there. | ||||
Steps To Reproduce | Create and deform a worldspawn patch terrain laying across a flat terrain brush, in my case textured with textures/darkmod/nature/grass/grass4. Draw a brush intersecting the patch while laying against the top face of the main terrain brush, then convert this brush to atdm:seed. Give it the following additional spawnargs: density 5 remove 1 template atdm:nature_bush_large template1 atdm:nature_bush_double template2 atdm:nature_bush_tiny template3 atdm:nature_bush_wide template4 atdm:nature_bush_medium template5 atdm:nature_bush_wide If you're on a complex map that triggers this, you should eventually start seeing those bushes spawning at random locations on the map where they make no sense. It can take a while unfortunately, and my FM is still in the making without a map I can share publicly yet: Reproducibility may be an issue. | ||||
Additional Information | I'm intrigued by the fact that for me this would happen both with and without the "remove 1" parameter, which tells the seed entity to despawn itself after initially placing the entities in cause. Could this mean some entities like those bushes may have buggy code that makes them teleport on their own? | ||||
