Summary | 0006078: Material Editor: preview object should match aspect of texture
Description | The preview object is always a cube/sphere/plane of equal side length, but a lot of textures are wider than they are tall. This causes textures to appear squashed and blurry, in particular ones like textures/darkmod/metal/detailed/beam_rusty_victorian02 and 03. Maybe the preview object (at least the cube and plane) could automatically match the shape of the image? If images with different ratios are used by the same material, maybe the diffusemap should win. Might make sense to offer a field in the "Preview Scene Properties" to manually specify the dimensions of the preview object for such cases.
