Summary | 0006406: After being rotated pitch, some objects only follow player rotation in one direction
Description | Unexpected rotation behavior of an object when turning player: * Turning player one way will keep the object in front of the player (expected) and turn the object in the same direction as the player: it stays static in the player's view and rotates in the room. (expected) * Turning player the other way will keep the object in front of the player (expected) but not turn the object in the same direction as the player: it stays static in the room and rotates in the player's view. (unexpected) This only happens after the object has been rotated pitch "significantly" (more than some 20 %) before player starts turning. Only rotating yaw will not make this issue appear. This has been observed for the candlesticks in Tears of St. Lucia in the meeting room. The same is not true for the bottle on the table or the large candles. Reproduced on TDM 2.12/64 #10584 (beta212-01). Proposed solution: * Change so that the object's behavior when turning left and right works the same, and (preferred) that the object is static in the player's view, not static in relation to the room.
Steps To Reproduce | * In Tears of St. Lucia in the meeting room, pick up a candlestick from the table * Turn player left and right * The object stays static and unrotated in the players view. (expected) * Rotate the object pitch ("up" or "down" 90 degrees) so that it is horizontal. * Turn player one way then the other way and observe the object's rotation. * Object's rotation is inconsistent between turning left and turning right. (unexpected) * Put down the object on the table in its horizontal position * Pick it up again. * Turn player one way then the other way. * Object's rotation may be back to consistent behavior.
