Summary | 0000682: Randomly and procedurally generated terrain using patches/brushes.
Description | There is a tool for GTKRadiant called GenSurf which allows users to generate realistic terrain out of either brushes or patches. This tool was abandoned when switching to DarkRadiant and I would like to nominate it to be added to the features of DarkRadiant.
Additional Information | Information about GenSurf can be found here: http://tarot.telefragged.com/gensurf/ Source code can be found here: http://www.qeradiant.com/cgi-bin/trac.cgi/browser/GtkRadiant/branches/ZeroRadiant/contrib/gtkgensurf?rev=177 There is also a tool which converts Quake 3 maps to Doom 3 format complete with textures, models, material files etc. It can be found here: http://www.quake.de/q3tod3/

The new iModel interface may allow easier plugin support for this? Also, SEED terrain ideas may possibly borrow from the sources? |
