Summary | 0001143: Alert level getting stuck when outside of player sight/sound
Description | See #.2 here: http://modetwo.net/darkmod/index.php?s=&showtopic=8269&view=findpost&p=163548 I'm not sure what is the condition which decides whether or not this happens, but I was nearly positive I was seeing this before. Now I've actually seen the numbers and caught it on video. The very same guard from the previous video ran to hide in the other room. However, when he got there, his alert level stopped ticking down. I've seen this on the propagation3 map, and wasn't sure if I was really seeing it or not. Note how it sits at 7.800 the whole time I'm in the other room. And it was this way longer, long enough for me to realize, hey something's wrong, and turn on fraps, and then continue from there. Notice that it doesn't start to tick down again until a footfall is propagated to the AI... http://72.8.59.188/TheDarkMod/temp/stuckalert.wmv

UPDATE: see this post: http://modetwo.net/darkmod/index.php?s=&showtopic=8269&view=findpost&p=163755 Turns out it's pretty obvious what's going on. When in interleaved mode, the alert ticks down at interleaved rate. :) So obviously, regardless of normal mode or interleaved mode, alert needs to tick down at proper rate (perhaps a thinkframes multiplier when in interleaved mode?) |
|
The alert ticks down at the same rate now when the AI is interleaved. (The problem in the video is possibly a different issue related to the flee task) |
|
The interleaved tick down seems okay (verified on prop3 after all neverDormants removed). The flee thing does seem to be a separate problem. Investigating...
