Summary0001260: Need variable water murk overlay
DescriptionWe need to make it easy for the mapper to vary underwater visibility (murk) and colour of that murk by using a global on the alpha of the overlay and possibly switching in a choice of coloured overlay tgas else varying one white one somehow.

I'm re-opening this so it's not overlooked. What is needed is a choice of 3. In order of preference...

1. The means to pass an alpha global AND RGB global to be used perhaps with a single white overlay. This is the ideal so mappers can more easily change the degree of transparency (murk) and colour of the water.

2. The means to pass at least an alpha global or shaderparm so mappers can at least change the degree of transparency (murk) of the water. On its own this could be used with a small variety of different colour overlays. Less convenient; wastes resource size.

3. Add more defs and overlay defaults to work with the current system. This can be the last resort but will use even more resource space. This can be assigned to Fidcal if 1 or 2 are not possible.

12 new guis committed to give a variety of choices using Dram's new method see http://modetwo.net/darkmod/index.php?showtopic=8865&pid=175543&st=0&#entry175543 so this can be closed barring any adverse feedback
