Summary0001316: Locked door effects only heard from one side of door
DescriptionFind a locked door, e.g., the priest's door in SL. Try to open it. The locked sound is very faint if you hear it at all. It can be heard well from the other side only (can lean in to confirm). This can also be seen easily on the double-locked doors; one will be loud, the other, quiet (since they are mirror images).

I would guess this might happen for all door sounds (not just locked), but perhaps it isn't noticeable on unlocked doors, because they open allowing you to hear the sound from the other side.

I fear I have to reopen this. I'm not sure why, but in working on training_stealth, I keep hitting this at random, now and then. It is not consistent. Please try that map. I am just now reopening this after running into it for perhaps the 10th time in the last month of work. Related to 0001745 (door sounds in general, not just lock sounds), but I'll leave this one to cover both: sometimes sounds (door or lock) are not coming through closed and/or locked doors. One that seems to exhibit the behavior frequently is the last door in the map, the exit door (takes you back to start after the flashbomb guard). Sorry I don't currently have more repro info than that.

Video of (at least one) cause: apparently the player's facing angle or position w/r/t the door affects this?
