Summary0000152: Surface Inspector value fields disabled for patches?
DescriptionNot sure if that was intentional or just a bug that crept in. I thought originally, the surface inspector value fields (Horiz. shift, etc) would be disabled for full brushes or more than one face, because it made no sense otherwise. However, I'm also seeing the fields disabled for a single patch. The value changes still work of course, so this in not a major issue, but the user cannot see what values he/she's working with, of course (sometimes a simple 200% or 50% change is all that's needed, but they won't know). Just makes it less friendly and usable.

The user could open the Patch Inspector dialog to see the actual values, but it's kinda weird to open one dialog to control another. Or, they could just use the Patch Inspector dialog itself, but those increments are limited to 0.1, and the original point was merging the functionality to one dialog, anyway.

The shift/scale/rotation values make no sense for patches, as there is no unique value to be shown. This works only for faces >> hence disabled.

If you want to scale a patch texture about 200%, you'd have to set the step size to 2.0 and click onto the arrows for one time.

The patch inspector shouldn't be used to scale the texture, unless you want to edit every single patch control vertex by hand.

I think I follow what you're saying. I guess we can close this. There is some weird calculation happening with scaling that I'll report separately.
