Summary0000172: Button for Select Complete Tall?
DescriptionI was wondering if we could gank the button from DoomEd for Select Complete Tall? It's not uber-important if it's a lot of work; it's only mentioned so that it is consistently alongside (and visible to new users) the other selection buttons. I don't really think we need one for Select Partial Tall (shift-drag selection), since it doesn't draw a brush first, but that's just my opinion.

The button is already there and defined in the standard user.xml. You will have to remove your local user.xml (the one in "Documents and Settings") in order to see the changes.

Okay. Just a quick question - is there a reason it can't update these XML files on its own? It seems odd that a user must destroy all of their settings each time a new interface item is added.

Okay, I gave them a read-over. But do they speak of this fix (deleting the XML) as the solution, or the thing which is still trying to be solved?

The latter. It's difficult to determine which exact key is to be overriden by the user's settings and which should be taken from the default value. The nice solution is still to be found. We already changed the behaviour in the last few weeks in such a way that only changed values get written to the user's local settings, but this is only effective if no "old" user.xml from versions 0.7.0/0.7.1 are around.
