| Summary | 0002068: AI not sharing alerts with nearby allies | ||||
| Description | I'm not sure if this a bug or an incomplete feature, but AI don't seem to be alerting each other to the player's presence. I've had this sense for a while but now can confirm it's definitely not happening as it should. I had two AI actively searching for me after a failed KO attempt, and another AI came into the room on his patrol and then left again, without joining in the search. I would expect we want AI to play their "there's an intruder" bark at that point, and call other AI over. | ||||

| Just a note that this happened again in a mission I played yesterday...an AI was actively searching for me, and another AI walked by on his patrol without comment and without joining the search. | |

Is this still a problem? AI 'A' that's searching won't alert AI 'B' if 'A' can't see 'B'. (Illumination and FOV are considered.) AI 'A' that encounters searching AI 'B' won't pick up the alert if 'A' can't see 'B'. If 'A' can see 'B', then 'A' only picks up 70% of 'B''s alert amount, which might not be enough to send 'A' into search mode. In all cases, the amount of light and distance between AIs plays a part. Two AIs can seem to be close enough to pass along an alert, but might be _just_ far enough apart to prevent the alert from being passed along. |

It's quite possible the AI were in the dark, which is generally where the player would be hiding. What level of darkness is necessary for AI not to see each other? Given the choice, I'd rather AI see each other in the dark when they maybe shouldn't rather than have them NOT see each other when they look like they should. I haven't noticed this issue lately but then I haven't been playing much either. I'll keep an eye out for it. |

| AI search fixes between 2.0 and 2.04 have addressed this. Any new findings are a new bug. | |
