Summary0002328: Normal Map Sculpting Tool
DescriptionThe processes of creating Normal Maps in an external tool is extremely cumbersome. Even the most crude Normal Map manipulation in Dark Radiant would be beneficial for smoothing rough geometry and customizing the look of assets.
Steps To Reproduce1) Select a group of textured Brushes
2) Prompt user to create names for each texture
3) Load the Normal Maps from each Texture into a memory space
4) Use the Normal Maps as input for a temporary editing Mesh
5) Re-sizable sphere draw tool can distort the control mesh
6) Bake the changes to new Normal Maps
7) Save the New Textures
Additional Information(From Baddcogs clarification, Vertex Normals differ from the Normals present in Normal Maps?)

The temporary editing mesh could be a patch that is deformed to match the contours of the brushwork?

If the editor could be made to automatically create patches that inherit the surface contours of brush-work it would also be easier to use patches in general?

Kinda like a crude version of Sculptris just to modify Normal Maps that span multiple Brushes...
