The biggest problem with combat is the that leg channel is overridden by the code, so nothing from the hips down actually plays. That's going to make any combat animation look bad. I could try and remove the leg override, but then I suspect it would become much easier to deke and dodge around AI in combat. | |
Looking into this now...the animations are far superior, and may be better even without the leg channel. | |
These are certainly an improvement, even without the leg channel. As I suspected, overriding the leg channel makes the AI stop for the duration of each swing, rather than being able to charge forward as they do now. That makes it much too easy to avoid their swings. I tested for collisions and they seem to work the same as the previous animations. Let me know if you encounter any oddities. |

I've noticed one or two times where I thought I had blocked an AI's right-to-left attack in time but still got hit. Maybe I was just too slow, but it's something to watch. | |
