| Summary | 0003405: Crashes in A Score to Settle | ||||
| Description | We've had two recent reports of random crashes in this mission, and I've been having them myself under 2.0 as I try to update it for standalone. In my case, the crashes have been frequent-- 3 out of 4 times, and they have no apparent pattern; I've had a crash while loading, at the start of the map, and elsewhere. Other reports included the crash only happening on Down street. " I KOed him and headed for Down St. when the crashes started happening. " | ||||

"The archer who's patrolling the inn is doing something funky. Caught red-handed in each of 3 crashes. Have to dig down and find out what he's doing. " |

When the patrol code selects the next path entity to process, if none can be found, there are two spots in the code that weren’t handling the situation. The fix is to make them aware of this possibility. In A Score to Settle, an archer in the inn realized that a coin purse had gone missing during the first few frames (it fell through the table it was sitting on, a different problem). This let the archer go from idle to alert_idle, but the next two path_corners on his patrol route were marked “idle_only”, which meant he couldn’t use them, and had nowhere to go. This caused the early crash. Rev. 5762: MovementSubsystem.cpp Misc.cpp To test with this fix, update from SVN. The Windows DLL is updated in rev. 13463. |

| There might be other crashes in this mission, so we'll leave the issue open until we're confident all crashes have been dealt with. | |
| Tested for about half an hour or so tonight. No crashes during the game, although I did have a CTD right after clicking "quit" in the main menu. | |
| Any new info on this? | |
| Haven't had much time for testing yet, but no crashes so far. | |
| No recent reports | |
