| Summary | 0003421: Mission Success sound not playing | ||||
| Description | After completing two missions in a row, I got the regular main menu music box sound on the "Mission Complete" screen, instead of the success sound. | ||||

Weird, I just played Parcel and the sound worked properly. The two missions that did not work are Chalice of Kings and Crown of Penitence. |
| I just played Chalice and Crown all the way through and heard the Mission Success music on the "Mission Complete" screen. | |
Had another report of this from The Phrase Book: "Still get that mission complete sound bug - http://bugs.thedarkm...iew.php?id=3421 for me it starts to play then cuts off after about a half second." |
| I can't recall this happening lately; it will be something for 2.0 testers to watch out for. | |
| Ok, I'm going to reopen this, as I just had it happen again. I completed Too Late, and the Mission Success music started to play for about half a second, then it got cut off and the regular music box menu music started playing instead. | |
| And the music box menu music was playing while the Mission Success screen was still displayed? | |
| Yes. The mission screen displayed normally, but the main menu music cut off the mission success sound after about half a second. | |
| Since this is intermittent and only a cosmetic issue, I'm going to move it to 2.01. | |
I can't see how this is happening, and I still can't reproduce it. The success gui takes over at mission complete, and asks that the mission complete music be played. While that gui is in control, no other music request is made. The main menu music box music isn't requested until control is handed over to the main menu. |
I'll move this to 2.02 and we can see if there are any further reports. |

I just watched an LP that demonstrated the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xn9i3FvhByA At 37:03. Oddly, I noticed that when he went out to check his objectives at 28:20, the "tavern" sound is playing in the Main Menu. |
| Here's another LP that experiences this issue, at 26:03: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JetTarwBG3g&list=WL39556876D3BE6B65 | |
I looked at this code again, and I still can't see a way for it to fail. Unless we can get a savegame just before completion that exhibits the problem, I don't know if we'll have a chance to figure out what's going on here. If we can't get a savegame by the end of May, this needs to move to 2.03, and we'll hope to get one before we ship 2.03. |

Let's all add +tdm_debug_mainmenu 1 to our launch shortcuts for a few weeks in the hope of catching it in the act! The console output could be needed if it doesn't repeat in a save game. |
Should be +set tdm_debug_mainmenu 1 |
You are right of course, but weirdly my version without the "set" keyword worked too, meaning that it caused TDM to produce the debug output. But it caused a seemingly irrelevant console error on program start, "Couldn't exec autocommands.cfg - file does not exist", and it delayed mainmenu initialization until I called it up in game. I've been wondering why I was getting a console error instead of the main menu on startup for the last 3 weeks. This was it. I could still launch maps from the console so I thought nothing of it (I only added this parameter in my VS debug settings, it wasn't in my stable installation). |

| Moving this to 2.03. | |
