Summary | 0003440: Zombies should not take damage from arrows; visual indicator needed
Description | Since the poll was basically a tie, it's probably best to leave zombies as they were, not getting damaged by arrows. However, it would be nice to have a visual indicator that they're not being hurt. What about having arrows stick in? Is it possible to keep them non-solid so they don't get in the way? http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/14686-should-zombies-be-hurt-by-broadheads/

Arrows set back to no damage. Not sure about visual indicator: Discussion thread here: http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/14870-zombies-and-arrows/page__pid__312876#entry312876
This escaped me earlier...why is the zombie playing a pain animation if they're not taking any damage? That certainly will mislead the player into thinking the arrows do damage.
The revenant and skeleton both use 'undead flesh' too. It looks even more ridiculous for them to react to arrows. I think I'll set arrows to bounce off for the time behind--that is appropriate for skeletons and revenants. Might look odd for zombies but we'll probably need a different kind of surface type for them.
Hmm, probably makes more sense to make an "undead_bone" texture for the revenant and skeleton and lead "undead_flesh" for the zombie.
Ok, I've made a new texture for skeletons and revenants. Arrows now suitably bounce off them. Oddly, after doing that and testing arrows on the zombies, they weren't playing pain animations. Don't know if I modified something to achieve that, or if it's a fluke. If it stays consistent, the whole issue can be closed. |

Changes: 1. Zombies no longer play pain animation when hit by arrows. 2. Revenants and skeletons do not either; arrows bounce off them 3. All undead play pain animations when hit by holy water. I'm going to call this done. |
