Summary0003973: Possible vis portal issue
DescriptionOn three separate occasions over the last week I have had vis portals suddenly render as black. This was in two different maps. Two cases involved doors; all three involved ai who were near or intersecting the vis portal. In all three cases the visportal suddenly went black...no skybox visible. It would then blink back to normal after a few seconds. In two of the three cases it happened only once, in the third it kept going on and off. At least two of the cases involved me drawing an arrow at the time it happened.

Can you remember exactly where it happened? That might be relevant too.

There aren't many things that should force a portal to close. Doors, fog, func_portals, or worldspawn that the game thinks is opaque getting in the way.

Yes; the first occurrence was on the second floor of the lift in St. Lucia. I was outside the lift and an AI was on it, when suddenly the visportal went black.

The other two occurrences were in the test/cascadetest.map. One was on the first door from player start. The other was the door directly beside the stairs up...both the door and the entire stairs went black.

Just to summarize, there definitely seems to be some connect to drawing the bow, as I've only seen this issue when the bow is drawn, and releasing the arrow tends to make it stop.

I believe this was a side-effect of bugs in 0003878, hopefully resolved in the latest commit to that issue.
