Summary0000053: Held RMB for mouselook in camera view
DescriptionIt doesn't look like this is reported yet:

Instead of RMB toggle to enter camera mouselook mode, a hold RMB method is (at least in this user's opinion) far more user friendly; go to the window, mouse down, drag around, mouse up and leave. Eliminates the whole "forgot to mouse click a second time to leave, oh look my view just went wacky" common occurance of current design.

Also avoids problems with DarkRadiant grabbing mouse events and not letting go if a problem occurs or a debugger breakpoint is reached.

Egads, after using the toggle for a while, I'm actually getting used to it. Regardless, getting rid of this toggle mode is probably for the best. But to the point of my note: hopefully this change won't remove the mousewheel step forward/backward - I've come to depend on that (the ctrl-shift-drag is a bit cumbersome, though still useful when fine movement is needed).

One thing I like about the toggle freelook mode is that - once entered - allows you to conveniently click around in the scene with LMB or MMB. Having to hold down RMB is of course not THAT problematic, but still I find it more convient the other way.

I'd vote for an option, although the question will arise how complicated this will be.

Resolved. It's now a preference whether freelook mode can be toggled or the mouse button has to be held during freelook mode.

Look under Preferences > Camera: "Freelook mode can be toggled"

Heh, I've gotten so used to the GTKRadiant way, that now this feels awkward. But I think it'll be a welcome option. ;)
