Description | The current colour chooser button is OK for choosing a basic colour, but it is really clumsy for making fine adjustments to light brightness. On GTK, the dialog is just a palette of several basic colours, with an additional list of "custom colours" which can only be edited by entering another dialog, with both dialogs needing to be closed before you can even see the new colour in the camera view. This requires a large number of clicks and dialog closures to experiment with a number of typical Dark Mod light colours, and adjusting the brightness of an existing light without inadvertently changing the hue is difficult.
The workflow could be improved considerably if there was a separate slider in the Light Inspector to change the brightness of a light without needing to enter the colour chooser dialog, and show the updates in realtime in the camera view. This could be multi-selection aware, so that the brightness of several lights could be adjusted at once without changing their individual hues. |
