Summary | 0006525: Maximum intensity of the lightgem is indicated by a red frame
Description | This is expected behavior (see comment below) so the functionality fills a purpose and should therefore be retained. Currently the red frame * looks somewhat artificial in the context * may be somewhat difficult to spot at a distance Proposal: * For aesthetic reasons, consider other means of expressing maximum intensity. Perhaps a simmering, boiling, swirling, shift to a red hue, or other effect of the lightgem that is noticeable without being too distracting.
Steps To Reproduce | * In training mission, fetch the lantern from room "Objects & Handling", and turn it on. * A red frame appears around the lightgem. (unexpected) * Turn off the lantern. * The red frame disappears.

This is expected behaviour. The red frame appears whenever the lightgem is at maximum intensity, such as when the player is holding a lit lantern. You can also observe this when standing in a brightly lit area.
@Dragofer: Thank you! Could you add a sentence about this in the wiki article https://wiki.thedarkmod.com/index.php?title=Lightgem ? I'd do it myself, but I don't have an account on the wiki yet.
Edited the wiki, and now closing this ticket.
