| Summary | 0000666: Grabber: Allow transverse sliding of held object against collision surface | ||||
| Description | A request has been made to allow some transverse sliding of the grabbed object against some collision surface without considering the held object "stuck." Currently, an object is detected as "stuck" if the player-desired position would put it into a position where there is any contact. This makes it quite difficult to manipulate things close to other things. It would be good to find the collision normal and allow some velocity to be imparted transverse to the collision normal, to slide objects along walls, for example. Extra credit: Leverage existing friction calculations and compare the force it would take to slide something to the maximum player-exertable force. | ||||
