| Description | Note: Possibly relates also to Find/Replace operations 1. Open a large map, e.g., saintlucia 2. select all brushes (this itself takes a few moments (15 sec on 3GHz), but that is a separate issue; DoomEd selects them all instantly, so I'm wondering what DR does so different) 3. choose a texture, and from the Media tab (or Textures), Apply to Selection After maybe 15 minutes, I gave up (repeated attempts) and killed the process. I started doing the task in small chunks of maybe 100 brushes at a time, and even that was taking very, very long (minutes). I was trying to accomplish a single-textured version of SL, so that I could run tests with texture memory requirements. After more than an hour struggling with this, I thought to try DoomEd. It did the full select and texture replace in a few seconds. So I assume maybe we have a bug or some design problem that's causing the time requirement to grow geometrically with selection size. | ||||
