| Summary | 0000154: Changing origin moves brush | ||||
| Description | Found this out while testing 0000117. If you change the origin values of a func_* brush, and hit Apply, the brush itself moves. The origin of course should move but not the brush. | ||||

| I believe this is not a bug, because the brushes of a func_static should be positioned relatively to the origin, shouldn't they? If you want to move a brush relatively to the origin, just select it and drag it around. | |
| Yup, working as designed. It might be possible to add tools to adjust the position of the origin (like Blender's "Center New" and "Center Cursor"), if this is truly necessary. | |
| I'm confused. Was it designed to act different from DoomEd? Current drop does, though it's possible this drop has some problems (noted in new entry). In DoomEd, typing in new values for the origin moves the origin, not the brush. That's how we place hinges on doors accurately. In DR, typing a new value for the origin moves the whole deal, and in this drop at least, there's no way I can find to move the origin independant of the brush. | |
|
I'd move the whole func_static such that the origin is placed correctly and then adjust the brushes, which should end in the same result. However, if you think there should be a moveable origin, please open a new issue, although that might be more complicated to solve. |

|
Ah! I see, I didn't realize that would work. I believe the saying is "Six of one, half dozen of the other." :) If someone really needs a movable origin explicitly, they can still track it, but with this alternate method, it's just a matter of changing thinking and it works. |
