Summary0000556: Moss clumps can trap AI
DescriptionA cunningly-placed moss clump can trap the AI under certain conditions.

To reproduce:

* Start thiefs_den.map
* Move up towards the city watch, and wait until he gets into his little recessed doorway
* Shoot a moss arrow (default binding: 0) at the city watch's head. With any luck, a moss blob will form in front of his face, hanging down from the wall above the recessed doorway, and obstructing his movement.

You should now be able to run up in full view and provoke the city watch without consequence, as he can no longer move.
Additional InformationThis is a separate issue from 0000502, because that issue deals with horizontal moss clumps. This relates to vertical, overhanging moss clumps.

The obvious solution would be to make all moss clumps nonsolid to AI. However, this would presumably prevent AI footsteps being deadened by moss.

A better solution might be to make all moss clumps that are too steep to climb nonsolid to AI, while leaving other moss clumps solid. However, I can still imagine a (rare and not likely to occur in real maps) situation in which a moss clump could overhang from a walkable slope.

We could also prevent mossblobs from being spawned in a vertical position. This will also prevent them from being spawned on walls, but I could live with that.

I like that solution. Implemented in SVN, and issue set resolved.

I think it's safe to close this now. (Nobody else is going to; it's my bug!)
