My suggestions:

1. a "bending over" animation when hefting the body

2. look into providing a visual ragdoll when carrying the body (as in Dishonored) that will partially block vision

3. possibly disable crouching when body is shouldered? (how would you be able to do that?) reduces clipping potential

4. reduction in speed, not a hard cap.

5. lightgem penalty. carrying a body should penalize you at least as much as a bow.

6. some sound effects for the lifting and carrying

Number 4 is basically reported in issue 0002273. I have marked that issue as resolved and will suspend this one, in case anybody wants to look into number 2 after all.
